The issue has not ocurred for a few weeks. When we configured a scan exclusion for appsense service related folders, the issue was resolved. Type sc interrogate service_name (where service_name is the name of the service) at the command prompt to update the status of that service in Service Control Manager.
KB2465772 is not helping against this problem. Needless to say, I found your post and elected to give it a shot. After following the above steps I am quite sure the issue at hand should be resolved, I have done the same thing on over 3 servers now and problem didn't reoccur. An application or service that uses Winsock API or Winsock Kernel API may randomly stop responding in Windows Server 2008 R2 or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2465772 Hope this helps. After performing the above actions again on the affected servers the problem were once again resolved.
