I have this exact issue with the event logs not working. I was able to add my account and tick all the box's for the folders but it would not apply to all files and subfolders. I do need help with this as i wanted to check my event logs for a reason.   Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.   Thursday, August 09, David Wednesday, February 06, 2008 11:37 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote  xmasgoose wrote: Thanks Gary, It solved the problem for me. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/95d0a0f6-6162-4e86-afd4-579cae0679ce/windows-server-2008-r2-event-log-will-not-start-error-4201?forum=windowsserver2008r2general
