The crashes are totally random but seem to be worse just after a peripheral piece of hardware has been removed from a USB port (a phone, a mouse, etc.). Also, does your laptop have a tendency to crash when USB peripherals (a mouse, a phone, a camera, a drive, etc) are unplugged? To be honest...I think that you've focused on the wrong possible problem...but I can't say just what might be the cause of what I would call the "real problem". System specs are listed on my profile. Power related how? navigate here A couple months ago I contacted ASUS tech support and after following their instructions they suggested I take it into their service center for diagnostics and repair.

But...I would start with removing all browser add-ons...and uninstall Chrome, since you also have Mozilla installed.
