I'd been using this drive for automated backup for a long time now. The first thing I would try in this case would be to see if you can try to do this on a completely different computer. Windows 7 won't let me do that. The Packaging and the Label on the Drive do not indicate it might be a Western Digital Drive, but only Seagate.
