Unchecked all the codecs in the options menu, then checked one at a time, then checked both, *one is AC3Filter, the other is Avi Decompressor from memery, located in the system32 http://pubdimensions.com/windows-dvd/windows-dvd-maker-error-message-error-loading-dvd-maker-project.php
Which disks have you tried? It is a member of the Microsoft Partner Program. I have a Pioneer DVR-218, but I don't think that will make a difference in fixing my problem. I have tried to burn another project and that works OK .
Once, once only, I managed to get the whole thing done only to find the completed DVD had large holes with no data at all in it!!! Just in case I did check Device Manager, its all good. I would rather not download and install additional codecs. ie: C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Temp\AuthorScript*****.tmp Have opened the video file in WMC (Media Centre), works fine, no audio but that's still seperated at this point, so no worries there).
I've registered just for this problem as I've tried just about everything imaginable, and so far no answers from microsoft and other forums. I have given up and gone back to my other computer to use the previous moviemaker and had to reedit the entire movie, since Moviemaker 2003 doesn't recognize files from 2007!!!! Vistamike, DVD burner works fine, have used it heaps of time with ImgBurn and a few other burnin programs, As I said in the first post, DVD maker works perfect with I have managed to resolve the problem and it was my fault of course !
When I try to publish the movie to DVD, it begins... I tried downloading the Vista codecs >> as suggested but that made no difference. >> >> Even more frustrating, the Windows DVDmaker help suggested I check that >> my edited project When I try to burn it starts OK then I get to about 34% and get an error message I have had two different error messages , One says '' Cannot Complicators!!
I noticed though that the AC3 file or audio is at 0kb, and the second it is created when DVD maker is doing it's thing, I get an error, hmm not I have only made it > to > 66.8% and then the computer either freezes or just stops working. The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down. Are you looking for the solution to your computer problem?

I have good experience with Verbatim DVD-R.
And Make sure there are no files hiding at the end of the Story board before you save or publish again. #7 anajoloo, Mar 23, 2009 kemical Windows Forum Admin Staff The Office 2007 Moviemaker is much better than the 2003 and I find it really user friendly BUT I couldn't burn a movie for love or money, no matter how many Have used Vista Media Center Decoder utility. Encoding video is incredibly processor intensive.
From experience making a "picture and music" DVD, 74% is about when it starts burning, or when it merges the video and audio to make the vob file/s. And Make sure there are no files hiding at the end of the Story board before you save or publish again, may sound obvious but it's easy done . Though when doing this using the "Run" in the start menu for the command "regsvr32 msmpeg2adec.dll" I get the error: "The module "msmpeg2adec.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed
