Microsoft has promised a Windows Media Center replacement sometime in the future and this might possibly be the beginnings of that promise fulfilled. If your system is still resolving to the older guide system (Zap2It) this process will continue to fail regardless of what zip codes you enter. I can't find any local zips codes that do…HELP! Once setup has completed you will need to select "Let me configure my TV signal manually" per the instructions below: In Windows Media Center select the following: Task Settings TV Signal learn this here now

My machine is 64 bit, could that be part of my problem? If it's an issue with your DNS this should point you to google's DNS servers which appear to be resolving correctly. Also, when I have tried to update it always me an download is in progress and then it give me a message wmc that a successful download has been completed. my review here I have a test system here that was running Windows 8.1 with the (paid) extra to enable Windows Media Center.
Windows 8.1 should be a viable and supported Operating System for quite a while to come but I am wondering the same question that you have on this. What a pain…. I was able to get things to work in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI by using 53203. I can ping the address using http://ipaddress.com/ping/. Try the Dallas one I referenced (75075 I believe it was).
