I know that PowerDVD isn't free unless OEM, however, it is a short term fix, as it installs it's own Decoders etc ;) Hope this helps some others out... be sure to remove any DIVX Videos and put them in a seperate location, even though MEDIA PLAYER will play them where as WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER does not have the codec, I thought the container was the same as the file extension (so .avi in this case) but mediainfo showed that the videos that played OK have MPEG-4 containers while the videos
