I already had the coreavc_professional_edition codec package installed which I paid money for but it didn't do the job. To view the file list, open a DOS window (CMD.exe or Command.exe) and use the attrib command. It gave me a new icon - Media Player Classic - which now plays my files, but I can't get this programme set as the default movie file viewer and the Windows Media Player License Migration Free Download Sound now works perfectly.
