All other ISOs I can find online are W8.1 w/ Update, which won't work for a repair-install. I'd appreciate the help and will share the logs that you ask. This did not help.

This did not work. Otherwise, I might end up doing a fresh install but that's just too much hassle. Belated status update: I installed KB2919442 manually, immediately following the repair install, and it went flawlessly.
